We were asked to share a birthday memory. Mine is from a birthday three years ago. My husband Mike, has got a major chocolate addiction, the man loves to make what he has dubbed the Chocopolyse Cake. It's a three layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate pudding. The thing is huge, and very very very rich. For this birthday he added a layer of chocolate ganache.

My favorite birthday memory is one birthday when I was 8 or 9 (I think) and my parents let me invite a bunch of people over, including all of my family, and everyone just ran around in the yard, jumped on the trampoline, got in and out of those plastic pools around the yard, ate homemade cake and ice cream that my mom made, and hit the pinata! It was super fun just to be a kid and run around with all of my friends on a great day that involved homemade yummy treats!

Happy Birthday, Ella! Thanks for sharing the wonderful day and the giveaways. Your chocolypse cake looks awesome. I really want to try some of that. My mom made me a cake with one layer of brownie in the middle of 2 layers fudge cake, with fudge syrup in between the layers and then fudge frosting all around, you then add more syrup to your slice put in the microwave heat for a few seconds, and put ice cream on the side. New GFC follower under Scott Wilcox. While birthdays have never been a big deal in my family, my worst birthday memory sticks out the most. Hope you don't mind and you get a giggle. It was my 9th birthday and I got all dressed up for my "party" in a poofy yellow dress with my bowl hair cut. Anyhow, NOBODY showed up (I was a loner in school) so my dad went to the neighbors house and asked if her son could come eat cake with us. Then he proceeded to humiliate me telling me the kid was a "rent-a-friend". I eventually got over this after many years of therapy and alcohol. :)
